Sometimes referred to as back game. The term covers a simple strategy in backgammon. One of the players is in defensive position when he has two or more points (or anchors) in the opponent's inner board.
When playing according to this strategy, the player holds the two anchors as long as possible, this way he will force his opponent to bear in or to bear off awkwardly. As a type of stronger backgame we can mention the case when a player holds the 1 and 3, the 2 and 3 or the 2 and four points on his opponent's side. |
