Bar Point

As one can easily guess, the bar point is strongly connected to the previous term, the bar. You can see two bar points on a backgammon table, the 7th and the 18th points. These are called bar points because they are situated right next to the bar.

The 7th point is in the inner board of one of the players, while the 18th point is in the outer board of the same player, so there is one bar point on each side of the backgammon board. This also, is a very frequently used word in backgammon, since the situation of placing a checker on one of the bar points occurs quite frequently.
