Blot
[definition]
In backgammon, the definition of blot is very simple: a single checker standing alone on a point. A player should always play attention to its single checkers, because they are very vulnerable to hit. In addition, if you see that the opponent player has a single checker on a point, you should try to hit it. Another term is related to blot, the blot-hitting contest. This is not a real contest, as expected, but an exchange of loose hits where both players are trying to get key points.
