Blot Hitting Contest
[definition]
In backgammon, the term does not mean an actual contest, but it is an exchange of loose hits (when a player hits an opposing blot, and his checker remains in danger of a return hit, particularly in the players inner board) in which both of the players try to get a key point. Key point is a point required to complete a prime in front of the opponent’s runners. A key point gives you an advantage, when made. The key points on a backgammon board are the following: bar-point, four-point and five-point.
