Sometimes referred to as Shutout. The term refers to the in-game situation when a player makes all his six home board points while the opponent has one or more checkers on the bar. This way the opponent player can not re-enter his checker or checkers from the bar until at least one of the closed home-board points are opened. The term itself refers to the fact that a checker can not re-enter the board from the bar because all the points in the opponent’s inner board are occupied, so the checker is closed out. |
