Connectivity
[definition]
The term is essential for a backgammon player, because it refers to a very important strategy. Connectivity actually means that the player’s checkers are placed in a way that they are within six pips (units of movement) of each other, this way they can make points more easily and protect each other at the same time.

We can say that the checkers are unified, because there are no large gaps between them. This is a very important and successful strategy, because it won’t allow to the opponent to attack one of the connected checkers easily.
