Control a Point
[definition]
Controlling a point means owning a point. This term is not so much a strategic one, but one of basic knowledge on backgammon, because one can not control a point unless he knows the rules.

A single checker can not control a point, so controlling a point means that two checkers are placed on the same place. It is one of the important rules in backgammon that only a player who controls a point is allowed to place additional checkers to the same point. Also, it is important during the game to contain at few important points, like the five-point or even the bar point.
